In the late 1980s, Alexander Simkin left his homeland of Israel and embarked on a journey to America. Upon arrival, his prospects for employment were uncertain due to a lack of citizenship documentation. The only option available to him was that of a merchant. While selling various goods, Alexander found solace in an unusual way, by working with wire. It quickly became apparent that he had a natural talent for jewelry-making, creating earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings that were nothing short of extraordinary. Despite his humble beginnings, Alexander's aspirations were clear. Skilled with both his hands and mind, he was determined to achieve greatness. Decades later, the designs of Alexander Simkin are a testament to the enduring passion that has driven him throughout his career.

THE EARVINE
The collection that we have today, comprising of thousands of unique pieces, would not be possible without the first design. During the early days of his craft, Alexander noticed a woman wearing earrings that featured butterflies and hearts, but what stood out most to him was the back of her ear. Each heart and butterfly was accompanied by a piercing. This problem inspired Alexander to find a solution and he set out to eliminate the need for multiple piercings by using a single wire that hugs the back of the ear. This design, known as the Ear Vine, laid the foundation for all that followed. However, before the first prototype could be created, the design needed a name. It was a woman who, in expressing her fondness for the adornment, suggested the name Earvine, which perfectly captures the essence of the design.
THE ARTISAN
Alexander Simkin's early artistic inclinations were evident from a young age, as he began sculpting with bread at the tender age of two while living in the city of Nazareth, Israel in 1973 during the Yom Kippur War. He later pursued studies in electricity and at the age of seventeen, he enrolled in the air force academy in Haifa. After six years of service in the Air Force, he and his spouse saved enough to travel as backpackers through South America. Throughout his life, Alexander has consistently been a skilled and passionate creator, honing his craft through sculpting as a child and later transitioning to jewelry-making with wire in the 1980s upon his arrival in America. This devotion to the art of craftsmanship remains a defining trait of Alexander Simkin to this day.
